  • Comment: Fishing is one of the two main activities in Greenland, along with hunting, and accounts for the survival of the Inuits. During the long season when fjords get frozen, fishermen go out, select what appears to be a good spot, dig a hole, mark it for safety reasons with a pole and sit the whole day in freezing conditions moving incessantly their fishing line up and down. Usually they are not more than 10 and group together. How do they know where such a good spot is, in this vastness of white which covers the sea underneath? This is fascinating and originates from one of those skills that I guess are inexplicable because they are innate.
