- Note: The morning meeting of the common loons at Elliðavatn lake
- Locate: Elliðavatn, Reykjavik, Iceland
- City: Reykjavík
- Comment: Every morning, very ealry, the loons at Elliðavatn lake and neighbouring Helluvatn lake gater for an morning bath and a song. There are two pairs and a single bird. None of them have bred this year. Lack of feed is a suspected cause as the number of small fish in the lakes has decreased dramatically the last decade. Sulfuric fumes from a nearby geothermal plant is suspected to be the cause of acidifying the water in the lakes.
